Imagine being able to have a motorcycle made 100 years ago, but straight out of the box, because that’s what a BMW R32 auctioned off in Las Vegas is like.

The passion for classic motorcycles does not have any kind of barriers, and that is, if you are in love with a model, and you are lucky enough to have money, you can leave it as it was from the factory.

Here the eternal debate arises as to whether it is better to leave a motorcycle as it is, without restoring it, if it is kept in good condition, or to restore it.

For some, a motorcycle in original condition, even if it is not 100%, has more value than another restored one.

On the other hand, for many, an old, classic, veteran motorcycle or whatever you want to call it, restored as it was originally from the factory, also has a lot of value.

The restoration has been impeccable and with original materials and components from 1925. Observe the rudimentary rear brake, like that of a horse wagon…

Well, this is what a user from the United States has done, restoring a 1925 BMW R32 as if it had left the factory. With all the rigor.

All you have to do is look at the photos… The aluminum of the engine is polished, clean and polished, there is not a single speck of rust, the paint is like new, the chrome is perfect, there is no unrestored part. And always observing how it left the factory almost 100 years ago.

This bike has been restored by a specialist, Hubert Fehrenbach, and belongs to the Black Forest Collection, in which, as you may have guessed, there are more BMWs like this one…

And it is that in the auction other centenary BMWs -or almost- will also be put up for maximum bid, such as the R37, R39, R63, R62, R11, R68, R42…

It is the first model manufactured by BMW. The restoration is simply brutal, impeccable, wonderful.

This motorcycle, and a few more, will be auctioned next January in Las Vegas, specifically from January 24 to 28, at an event organized by the Mecum firm at the South Point Hotel & Casino.

It is the first model manufactured by BMW and also the first boxer in its history.

This BMW R32 is the first model manufactured by the German firm in 1923 at its Berlin factory -although this dates from 1925, with chassis number 3246-, equipped with the first 494 cc boxer engine -the M2B33-, with 4V and transmission by gimbal. The design is the work of Max Fritz and originally delivered 8.5 CV.

It is an icon and a rarity that few fans can have, because there are very few units for sale and at really high prices. We’ll see what they get to pay for this almost hundred-year-old BMW which, by the way, in September of next year this model turns 100 years old.
