Aspark Owl, the car that enters the Guinness for the acceleration record

Aspark

The Aspark Owl is a Japanese electric hypercar, equipped with four engines that produce more than 2,000 HP and has achieved a Guinness record for acceleration.

A battle is underway between electric hypercars for the title of fastest car in the world. A few days ago, the protagonist was the Rimac Nevera and his 23 records in one day. Previously, it was the Pininfarina Battista and now the Aspark Owl is added, the car that enters the Guinness for the acceleration record.

The development of the electric car has allowed the creation of spectacular, very powerful hypercars, capable of offering heart-stopping performance. Cars around 2,000 hp that reach breakneck speeds and literally hit you to the seat when you step on the accelerator.

Currently, there is a select club of electric hypercars, where we find models such as the aforementioned Rimac Nevera and Pininfarina Battista, but also the Hispano Suiza Carmen or this Aspark Owl that comes from Japan and has just achieved a Guinness record for acceleration.

The Aspark Owl is equipped with four electric motors that develop 2,012 HP of power and 2,000 Nm of maximum torque. These four engines are powered by a battery of only 64 kWh that allows it to travel a distance of 450 kilometers, according to the NEDC cycle, a quite optimistic figure considering the enormous power.

The Japanese have taken their car and have gone to the Elvington aerodrome, in England, to make the most of its potential and they have succeeded.

The Aspark Owl achieved two surprising records: the first for the highest average speed in the eighth mile (201 meters), registering 309.02 km/h; the second was in the quarter mile, with a record of 318.85 km/h.

Less than 1.7 seconds

The difference between the two registers indicates how fast Aspark is capable of accelerating. In a previous test, the brand already registered an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 1.72 seconds (the Rimac Nevera stayed at 1.74 seconds on that glorious day of 23 records).

Although the Japanese firm did not intend to set any acceleration record this time, it ensures that it can go below 1.7 seconds to cover 0 to 60 mph. We’ll see if, later, he tries to get it officially.

The Aspark Owl is a very exclusive electric hypercar, of which only 50 units will be manufactured, at a price of almost 3 million euros each.
