Audi will launch more than 20 new cars in the next 3 years

As part of its most ambitious product plan ever, Audi has confirmed that it will launch more than 20 new cars in the next 3 years.

The German company Audi is working on an ambitious product plan that will involve important innovations until the year 2026. According to Marc Lichte, head of design for the brand, Audi will launch more than 20 new cars in the next 3 years, including a series of cars electric vehicles developed from scratch and successors to its current range of combustion vehicles.

“We work on electric cars and successors to internal combustion engine models,” Lichte explains in an exclusive interview with Auto Express. “We are about to see the biggest product launch in Audi history with more than 20 cars in the next two and a half years.”

“That is why we are focusing on cars like the Audi Activesphere Concept, which is our last show car for the next few years, so that we can focus on series production,” added the head of design at the Ingolstadt company.

These statements make clear the focus Audi is carrying out in its transition towards the total electrification of its range of products, as well as the importance of new generation electric cars, as is the case of the Audi A6 e-tron which is already in the testing phase and the recently presented Activesphere Concept.

This concept car is the fourth and last member of the ‘sphere’ family of concepts and was presented just a few days ago. It is designed as a luxury coupé that can be transformed into a pick-up as a demonstration of Audi’s ability to combine versatility and technology.

According to Audi, the Activesphere concept is packed with ideas and technology that may take years to become a reality, but it highlights the potential of high-tech vehicles in the future. An example of this is the air suspension with adaptive dampers that the prototype equips and that we could see in the future in the Audi Q SUV family.

Audi has already announced that it will only introduce electric cars to its range from 2026 as part of its strategy to remove internal combustion engine models from its range by 2033.
