Bimota Tera, the maxitrail with a height-adjustable chassis

After showing his Tesi H2 with the Ninja H2 supercharged engine a couple of years ago, Bimota has shown his future maxitrail.

This motorcycle is called Bimota Tera (Tesi System with Regolazione dell’ Altezza), that is, Tesi System with Height Adjustment.

It is an asphalt trail or sport-trail, with the Bimota alternative front suspension system, made up of a double aluminum arm and a monoshock, separating the damping and braking functions. In the only render we’ve seen so far both wheels appear to be 17”.

The novelty of this motorcycle is the chassis that was shown in Milan and whose particularity is that it can vary its height by 30 mm through an electro-hydraulic system and a cam that connects both suspensions.

In this way, the motorcycle can be raised, in case of entering dirt tracks, or lowered on asphalt for better stability.

You can see how the system works in the following animation:

The Bimota Tera’s engine will be the supercharged Kawasaki H2, although this time it may be more likely to use the H2 SX’s, with 200bhp and a flatter delivery, than the Tesi H2’s 242bhp.

Everything seems to indicate that this will be the next creation of the artisan Italian firm after the purchase of half of its shares by Kawasaki. We will certainly see it at EICMA 2023.
