This is a comparison in which 3,793 CV are stampeded, so the action is guaranteed. Which of these seven supercars will be the best in this 0-200-0 km/h test?
Forget Le Mans 24 Hours, Days of Thunder and Full Throttle. It could be said that all these films pale in comparison to the premiere that we present to you this week: The Magnificent Seven. What is not a film worthy of winning the Oscar? Of course it is, this is AUTHOR BILD cinema.
In this version you are not going to sit down and watch a boring cowboy movie. And for you to realize, I’ll give you a brief synopsis: seven of the fastest supercars face each other in a duel to the death. It looks for the fastest from 0 to 200 km/h and, again, back to 0.
I present to you the main actors in alphabetical order: from Italy arrive the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera. Blessed with identical power (570 hp) and powerful ceramic brakes, both strive to achieve the role of Latin lovers, combining power and sensuality.
Two new talents are presented from the country of the Rising Sun. The Lexus LFA, after intense preparation that has lasted ten years, is a candidate for the award for best new actor. With a hoarse tone of voice and an output of 560 hp from an ultralight ten-cylinder (200 kg), he sees it possible, and not without reason, to take on the role of the main character.
The second Japanese candidate is the Nissan GT-R. A model with a long history behind him.
From Germany comes a model that inherits the talent of its legendary grandparents: the Mercedes SLS AMG. Better known as The New Seagull Wings, it is used for serious roles and for action movies. Therefore, bet on a 571 hp V8 compressor and an irresistible look.
After passing through the gym, the 911 Turbo S arrives strengthened at the casting. It offers 530 hp and comes to show its rivals who’s boss on the track.
It seems that no one has given the Wiesmann GT MF5 much thought, even though it has already proven its worth. He too has trained hard and finally wants to change his handsome image and become a real macho man. 507 hp from a ten-cylinder should suffice.
Introductions made… action!: The Lamborghini enters the scene. Seated in an excellent sports seat and gripping the suede steering wheel, I activate Launch Control and… off we go! He goes full on stage and starts performing as if tomorrow doesn’t exist. It screams, links one gear after another and after 10.6 seconds it goes to 200 km/h. To do so, you only need to travel 361.24 meters (about three football fields). Now it’s time to demand the best from ceramic brakes. 4.66 s later (exactly 124.4 m) your interpretation is complete. Sizzling, it stands still on the runway. 15.24 s is enough to win.
Now the Wiesmann struggles for attention. He doesn’t change gear as fast and needs 12 seconds to get up to 200 km/h. A more than remarkable feat to be the new one. But she takes a total of 16.74 seconds to get back to 0 km/h, so she doesn’t get the lead.
A position that could be occupied by the GT-R, which begins its performance by blowing hard. Thanks to its double clutch, it changes gears at lightning speed, but it doesn’t have as much life when it goes high on laps. It takes 12.9 s to reach 200 km/h. Although the braking performance (133 m) is very good, with 17.78 s it is not enough to achieve the dream role in this blockbuster.
The LFA is the rookie and therefore arrives untrained, but it does have Launch Control and quick shifting. After 416 m (12.4 s) it reaches the 200 km/h mark. He tries to surprise us with a creepy sound, but that doesn’t get him any bonus points. Yes, its braking does: 133.5 meters. An applause please. Total time: 17.36s. Insufficient.
The Ferrari generates a noise when accelerating that attracts all eyes. It takes just 10.4 seconds to reach the top and just another 15.11 to come to a standstill. New record.
The SLS AMG rolls to the starting mark with gull wings open. Closed doors, Launch Control, full throttle… the SLS crosses the finish line making its V8 sound. Powerful and quick shifting but not perfect. In the end, it reveals its weak points: the SLS with steel brakes (ceramic, optional) needs 138 meters. In total, 16.13 seconds.
Meanwhile, the 911 Turbo S with its biturbo engine makes its entrance on the scene. It begins to accelerate like a beast thanks to Launch Control and after ten insignificant seconds it reaches 200 km/h. A stomp on the ceramic brakes and in another five seconds the yellow car stops as if nothing had happened. A mature and prodigious interpretation: the main role goes to Stuttgart. TheEnd.

Conclusion: the one who brakes, loses? Quite the opposite!
I admit it: the 0-200-0 km/h test is as extreme as it is far from the harsh reality of everyday life. But it is extremes that we are talking about in this comparison and, in addition, there is something of everyday life here. And we have also calculated the braking figures from 100 km/h.
On average, the thing was a sensational 32.9 meters… both hot and cold. That last! And often a step forward in safety, because it takes at least 350 meters to accelerate to 200 km/h and only an average of 132 m is enough to stop again.
