As you know, the American brand plans to be 100% electric in Europe, and in pursuit of that goal it will completely renew its electric range to have it fully electrified in the past decade. It is known that it will launch seven new electric cars for the European market that it will produce in the old continent, an offensive that commands the new Ford E-Transit Custom.
Citroën ë-Jumpy, Opel Vivaro-e, Peugeot e-Expert or Toyota Proace City EV, do they ring a bell? They will be the rivals of this new model. The new electric Ford puts all the meat on the grill to compete in one of the toughest segments. In addition, “to increase activity time and reduce operating costs” the company has created endless options that seek greater efficiency.
The Ford Transit Custom is the best-selling commercial vehicle in Europe since its arrival on the market in 2012, so its electric version has an advantage. This electric variant not only represents one more option, but also a change in all its sections, with a new image and more technology. It is expected to hit the market during the second half of the year, a model that will be present in a range in which combustion engines and plug-in hybrid and light hybrid versions will also be offered.
All the model data has not yet been revealed, so we will have to wait for a few weeks. We are waiting for production to start at Ford Otosan’s Turkish plant, a location that culminates in the strategic partnership with Koç Holding. At the moment this is the first of the range, although the E-Transit Courier, E-Tourneo Custom and E-Tourneo Courier will arrive.
Among the few data that the brand has given, we know that it has a range of up to 380 kilometers thanks to a battery that can be charged in direct current. It will also have ProPower Onboard technology, a 2.3 kW AC outlet located at the rear. In it, users will be able to plug in any electronic device they need for their daily performance.
