The operators, as a general rule, try to offer the greatest possible number of rates so that each consumer has it easy to find the one that best suits him. That includes contract rates and also prepaid, the latter modality that although it seems to have been somewhat forgotten, many users still enjoy. The SIM activation process is essential, not only in Lycamobile, but in any operator. For this process we must follow some steps, and as we will see just below, we will have three different ways to do it.
Activate your Lycamobile SIM easily
So how can we activate our newly purchased Lycamobile SIM card? If we enter the Lycamobile website, a tab will appear on the cover to activate the SIM card, but to activate our SIM card through this page we will have to click on the top right where it says My Lycamobile and in the drop-down menu, click Activate your SIM . Here we will have to enter the ICCID code and the PUK code of the card, as well as a photo of our ID and some additional personal data.
The second way to activate it (and perhaps the most comfortable) is at a Lycamobile authorized point of sale. At these points of sale we will need an identity document and fill in a series of personal data that will be required. Once this is done, they will be the ones who activate it instantly. At these points you can also top up your card whenever you want.

If you prefer to do it yourself, Lycamobile also gives you that possibility through email. To do this, we will need to fill out a form that is included in all SIM cards (you can take a photo or scan it), a photo of the DNI and a photo where the ICCID codes and the PUK code of the SIM card can be perfectly seen. Once you have gathered all this, the only thing you have to do is send everything to the email activatusim@masmovil.com, and the operator will activate the SIM card at the moment in which it verifies that all the data is correct.
Can I do it anonymously?
If you were wondering if there was a way to activate the Lycamobile SIM card without giving personal data, the answer is a resounding no. In Spain it is forbidden for operators to give prepaid SIM cards without previously registering the user’s data.
This obligation comes here in Spain from Law 25/2007, on the conversation of data related to electronic communications and public communications networks. This law requires operators to keep a record book of all those who acquire a SIM card to use their services. The idea of this is that the information serves to prevent these cards from being used to carry out crimes, although for the operators to give this information to the authorities it will be necessary for the approval of a judge.
