How to put or change the profile picture on your YouTube channel on Android

The profile picture of your YouTube channel is a very important aspect that you should not leave to chance. This image represents the objective of your channel or the name and logo of your company or business. For this reason, it is important that you first learn to take professional photos with your cell phone camera in order to correctly convey the theme of your channel. Then, it will be time to put or change the profile picture on your YouTube channel from your Android mobile. There are two methods for this.

First of all, you should know that your YouTube user account and channel is associated with a Google account. Therefore, the management you do in the different features of this account will be reflected in your applications, including YouTube.

Having this clear aspect, the first method that we will use to change the profile picture on our YouTube channel, will be by entering Google account management from your Android mobile from the YouTube mobile application.

Change the profile photo of your YouTube channel from the mobile application

Person holding mobile phone with Google account setup page

The first step is to enter the YouTube mobile app on your Android phone. Within it, at the top right of the screen, press the icon with your profile picture. And in the drop-down menu select “Your channel”.

In the new screen that appears, next to your channel’s profile picture and its name, you can see a nut-shaped icon. Press this icon which will take you to the channel settings screen. Then, in the upper right, press the “More” icon (3 dots) and select the “Help and feedback” option.

At the top of the screen is the “Describe the problem” search bar. Inside it, write “manage channel icon”. Different results will appear on the screen, select the first option that appears. This will take you to an article that explains things related to the topic.

Within the article, several links will appear with text in blue. The link we are interested in is the one that says “Google Account Settings”, press it and wait for it to load the web page. In it, you can change all the characteristics of your Google account and these changes will be reflected on your YouTube channel.

Press the icon of your profile picture, framed in a circle. This will allow you to change the photo, uploading a new photo from the camera or from your mobile storage. Select the photo, save the changes and voila! Now when you update the YouTube application you will see how your profile picture has changed.

Modify the profile photo of the channel through the YouTube Studio app

Another way to put or change the profile picture on your YouTube channel from your Android mobile is by using the YouTube Studio application. This app is specifically designed to manage everything related to your YouTube account, so you can also change the description of the channel, replace the cover photo, see the statistics and the number of subscribers of your channel and much more.

After installing the application, enter it and in the menu on the left of the screen you will have access to many functions that will allow you to manage your YouTube channel. Go to the configuration option and from there you can enter the management of Google accounts as we explained previously.

But also, on the upper right side of the screen, by pressing the circle that frames your profile photo, you will have the option to change the photo in a simple way. You can choose to select a photo within your phone’s storage or take a photo with your phone’s camera.
