I have tested the Skoda Enyaq Coupé RS iV, three reasons to buy it and one to think about it

At the end of last year, I had the opportunity to test the Skoda Enyaq RS iV in Andalusia. The Czechs wanted to carry out the test in Malaga because, in theory, the sun shines there. The only thing that shone was the car, because spikes fell.

Now, a few months later, and with the opportunity to own the Skoda Enyaq Coupé RS iV for a week, I can give you three reasons to buy it and one to think about it.

The truth is that the first electric in the history of the brand -as long as we do not have the 1939 beer delivery truck, which was created by Skoda in the face of the threat of a cut in the oil supply due to the explosion of what would be the World War II -, the Skoda Enyaq, adopted a really attractive appearance.

And then came the coupe version, increasing the magnet for prying eyes. But the icing on the sweet cake has been put by the Skoda Enyaq Coupé RS iV, the sports version.

Skoda Enyaq Coupe RS iV

It has the honor of bearing the initials RS in its name, which only the pedigree versions achieve. As a good friend told me on his day: “A sports car has to have the image of a sports car.” And this one has it.

What is most striking, without a doubt, is the solid Mamba Green color, which is exclusive to this variant. Point! But they also add the elements that are bathed in glossy black: the exterior mirrors, the roof bars, the brand logos, the rear diffuser, the window frames and the side skirts. Also the frame of the air curtain of the front bumper, which in the case of this version is shaped like an ‘E’ and not a ‘C’.

That on the outside, because the inside of this electric car… Tremendous! The seats have integrated headrests and are very similar to some bacquets. They can be upholstered in Suedia microfiber, with contrasting seams and stitching, in lime color, if the RS Lounge finish is chosen, and in black leather with gray stitching, if the RS Suite option is chosen. The three-spoke steering wheel, the polished aluminum bottom bracket and the roof and pillars in black are added, as is required of a good sports car.

dynamic behavior

As I mentioned a few lines above, during the international presentation it rained so much that Moisés prepared the boat to set up his private zoo. Even so, his behavior in the curve left an excellent taste in my mouth for how he faced them and for the speed with which he overcame them. And that the road was very wet.

Now, in Madrid, cold but ‘dry’, I have been able to confirm the excellent performance of the Skoda Enyaq Coupé RS iV. And that on the scale adds up to 2,255 kilograms. The sports suspension and the batteries on the floor, lowering the center of gravity, contribute a lot.

In addition, thanks to its 299 CV, which comes from the 204 CV front engine and the 109 rear; And with its 460 Nm of maximum torque, this SUV is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5″. Also, reaching 180 km/h, 20 km/h more than the Skoda Enyaq Coupé.

Soundproofing

Before testing it I imagined that the car would be a bullet thanks to its power and torque, and that it would go very well in curves because I had already tested the Volkswagen ID.4, its first cousin, which pleasantly surprised me in this regard.

But what I did not expect is the excellent soundproofing of the cabin. As standard, it is equipped with acoustic windows that have a special film on the front windows to reduce noise levels inside. They do a great job, although for this you have to drive carefully, because at the minimum, and without realizing it, you may be exceeding the maximum speed allowed.

Price

The reason why I would think about buying the Skoda Enyaq Coupé RS iV would be its price. It is not that it is high… well, it is not low either, because it amounts to 64,600 euros, but it is that within the Volkswagen Group there is a very similar alternative, with the same power, but cheaper: the Volkswagen ID.5 GTX, which costs €61,575.

The positive part is that the standard equipment is very complete and includes: 20″ alloy wheels, RS Lounge finish, grill with lighting, Full LED Matrix headlights, sports seats, three-zone climate control, electric gate with automatic opening and speed adaptive cruise, among other elements.
