The muscular and large Chief family receives a new version, a truly brutal sports muscle cruiser, the new Indian Sport Chief, which provides better components worthy of a sports car.

The Sport Chief is solid and muscular, and its headlight mask -also new, and generously sized- gives it a retro sporty touch, but without losing its muscle bike look. It is based on the current Indian Chief Dark Horse to which new components with higher performance and more focused on intense sports use have been added.

For this reason, aesthetically it retains its appearance since the same long and low proportions are maintained, the same tubular steel chassis, the twin-cylinder V49º Thunderstroke 116 -4T, air, 8V, SOHC, IE- engine and the double superimposed twin exhaust decorated in black .

Also the fuel tank -15.1 l- or the mini side covers are the same, but the seat is now somewhat larger, with a minuscule seat for the passenger and the driving position changes slightly since the flat handlebar is mounted on somewhat taller turrets -152 mm more-.

Dual disc front brakes with Brembo radial calipers are worthy of a supercar.

The instrumentation is also new, since it mounts a large circular TFT color touch screen, with Bluetooth connectivity, Ride Command, browser in mirror mode with the smartphone and more-, which hangs from the handlebar -it is between the handlebar and the tank- .

The headlight mask is the predominant aesthetic feature.

In the suspensions there are also changes since a KYB 43/109 mm inverted fork is mounted, and a pair of Fox rear shocks with a separate tank and 100 mm of travel. The rims keep their 19 and 16” measurements now with Pirelli Night Dragon tires, but now their design is different.

And on the front it is fitted with a second disc brake, and new radial-mount Brembo calipers -with conventional ABS-, a piece of equipment worthy of a superbike.

The new instrumentation is a circular TFT screen “hanging” from the handlebars.

As in the other Chiefs, it is equipped with full LED lighting, remote key start, USB socket, cruise control and three driving modes: sport, standard or tour. And to finish, indicate that its seat is still very low, at 686 mm, that its wheelbase is 1,626 mm or that its empty weight is 302 kg.

Available in Ruby Smoke red, Stealth Gray or Black Smoke black, it is priced from 21,990 euros.
