The Korean brand Kia has today presented the renewal of its XCeed crossover model in which, in addition to the usual aesthetic modifications and some added details in the equipment, the availability of the, hitherto unpublished, GT-Line version with a 204 hp gasoline. In this way, the XCeed receives the same update that was pending when the brand recently updated the rest of the bodies in the Ceed range, that is, the 5-door compact, the family and the Proceed.
The exterior changes are minimal and you have to look closely at them to distinguish the car from its predecessor. The bumpers, the front grille, the 18-inch wheels have been redesigned, but not the 16-inch wheels, and the interior design of both the headlights and the rear lights with the possibility, now, of incorporating sequential turn signals. 3 new colors are also added to the existing offer.
As far as safety equipment is concerned, the provision of driving aids has been increased with an active speed programmer that adapts the speed to the characteristics of the layout and with a warning system for the presence of vehicles in the blind spot that in addition to notifying the driver, it brakes the car if we direct it towards the occupied lane.
If on the outside the car changes little, inside it does even less with simple changes to the upholstery, the availability of a more elegant interior rear-view mirror, with finer frames, and some novelties on the buttons. The GT-Line version, which until now was not available in the XCeed range, has different bumpers and wheels and inside seats with a sportier design.
The range of engines remains as it was, although with the possibility that the one-liter, 120-horsepower engine, which was already available and remains on offer, is now purchased in a second variant with a 48-volt light hybridization . This same hybridization is used for both the 1.5-liter 160-hp gasoline engine and the 1.6-liter 130-hp diesel, but not for the top of the range, a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 204 hp.
Kia maintains in the offer the plug-in hybrid version with a power of 141 CV. This mechanism offers a theoretical autonomy of 48 km in the WLTP cycle, which can reach 60 in urban traffic. This car combines a 105 hp gasoline engine with a 61 hp electric motor powered by a 8.9 kWh capacity battery. the gearbox is a 6-speed dual-clutch.
