And the Urus is the main artificer.
Many shouted to the heavens when Lamborghini announced the Urus, but what at first seemed sacrilege has ended up proving the Italian brand right: the SUV is a best seller (within the scale of its positioning) and has led to the firm to consistently break its records.
The last one has been to achieve the best quarter in its history at a commercial level: between January and March 2022 it has sold 2,539 cars, which represents an increase of 5% compared to the same period last year.
It goes without saying that the Lamborghini Urus has been (again) the star of the range, as 1,547 copies were sold, which represents 61% of total sales. The second was the Lamborghini Huracan, with 844 units; and the third Lamborghini Aventador, with 148 and about to close its life cycle.
In terms of markets, what the brand calls EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) continues to be its main stronghold, accounting for 40% of sales, followed by America with 32% and Asia-Pacific with its 28% taking the rest.
Stephan Winkelman, CEO of Lamborghini, has declared in this regard: “We have had a solid start to a year that will bring new challenges on a global scale. Every month, the orders we receive exceed our production. We currently have enough to comfortably cover more than 12 months of production.”
And it is that everything seems to point to the fact that in 2022 they will exceed the records of 2021, which was the best year in the history of the brand thanks to its 8,405 cars sold.
Not only because of the good start of the course, but also because Lamborghini has announced that for the remainder of the year a new variant of the Huracán is planned (clearly the already filtered Sterrato) and two for the Urus.
