Minsait provides Seat with an artificial vision system

Minsait, Indra’s technological subsidiary, has installed an artificial vision system at Seat that detects and positions possible anomalies in real time during the initial manufacturing phases.

The Minsait company has provided Seat with an artificial vision system that, through algorithms, makes it possible to detect and position in real time possible defects and problems that may occur in the electric monorails of the production chain.

Through its specialized Artificial Intelligence unit (Plaiground), Indra’s technology subsidiary will allow Seat to detect possible anomalies in the early stages of manufacturing and introduce the necessary corrective measures so that they do not worsen and compromise production.

For example, Minsait’s artificial vision system manages to identify the rails of the electrovia and recognize the copper lines inside it, taking measurements at each point on the lines.

In this way, the system can detect and differentiate elements such as splices, turnouts and fastening elements, in addition to measuring the alignment of the rails between consecutive sections of a segment of electrovia.

Based on the detection of all these elements and the measures taken, the system is capable of identifying and positioning possible defects on a plane of the electrovia and setting alarms when any of them exceeds the established safety thresholds.

cost savings

Minsait’s artificial vision system will allow the Spanish company to identify possible incidents in its facilities in advance and correct them on time, that is, in a preventive manner. This will translate into significant cost savings, as well as an increase in the reliability of the line, implementing a more robust and efficient work methodology.

Both companies had previously collaborated on other elements of Industry 4.0. such as the management of technological infrastructures and the optimization of its component transport management at its Martorell plant, through SAP.
