Within the O2 mobile rate catalog, we find two different options if we only want to contract a mobile line, as well as two other additional mobile rates in case we want an additional line. However, if we take a look at the characteristics of these rates, we will see how they are not the same.

The range of rates at O2, Telefónica’s low cost company, is not very wide. More than anything, because we find two options to hire a mobile line and two other alternatives in case you want to have an additional mobile line. But, that is not the important thing, what we must pay attention to is that they have different characteristics.

Differences in O2 mobile rates

Being faced with two different O2 mobile rates, it is clear that we find points that are not the same, such as the price or the mobile data they offer. Starting with these two points, we go with the two alternatives that we have in the operator:

  • Mobile rate with 100 GB and unlimited calls for 20 euros per month.
  • Mobile rate with 20 GB and unlimited calls for 10 euros per month.

There are only 10 euros of difference between both options, but the amount of mobile data is overwhelming, up to 80 gigabytes of difference between both mobile rates from the telephone company. A remarkable inequality. Although, that’s just the icing on the cake. For starters, O2’s 20-euro rate offers 5G mobile connection to its customers. Instead, all those who have the option of 10 euros have to make do with Movistar’s 4G/4G+ network.

O2 mobile rates

In addition to enjoying 5G, the reduced speed of O2 customers when they consume the 100 gigabyte bonus of their rates will be greater than that which all customers of the 10-euro rate will have. So that you can see it clearly, this is the difference in reduced speed:

  • 100 gigabyte rate: speed of 128 Kbps at no additional cost when consuming the rate’s mobile data.
  • 20 gigabyte rate: 64 Kbps speed at no additional cost when consuming all the gigabytes of the rate.

In the case of additional mobile lines, they also enjoy a 5G connection and a speed of 128 Kbps once the mobile gigabytes included in these two rates are consumed. Which, in this case, is 100 gigabytes for the additional line for 15 euros per month and 10 gigabytes for the option of 5 euros per month.

How are these mobile rates similar?

Once we have seen the points in which O2 mobile rates differ (5G and reduced speed), it is also good to know how these operator options are similar. This way, you can get an idea of which one is worth more:

  • O2 mobile rates do not have permanence.
  • They offer unlimited calls to national landlines and mobiles. European roaming activated.
  • You can send unlimited SMS messages.
  • The price of these rates is final, and not promotional.

Therefore, we also find a large part of points in which both mobile rates are similar. Although, it is clear that, for the price and number of gigabytes, in addition to the 5G connection and the reduced speed, it may be worth opting for the 20-euro rate. Although, it is clear that it will depend on the needs of each one.
