The sale of devices is one of the main hooks that operators have to keep customers and avoid leaks and portability. With more advantageous conditions than buying them outright, sometimes even at zero cost, in exchange for permanence they can have a satisfied customer for more time and remain in the company, in this case O2.
Bearing in mind that Movistar has been doing it for a while now, with a catalog of products that you can buy through the operator and charged to your telephone bill, it was a matter of time before O2 replicated its father and also began to sell massively all device series.
Specifically, now the secondary operator of Telefónica has embarked on the adventure of selling tablets after doing the same with the sale of mobile phones in installments last November. These are the models it currently offers and the conditions it has if you are an O2 customer.
The tablets you can get with O2
Currently, the tablet purchase service has been released with only two models: an iPad and an Android. Specifically, the model of the bitten apple that we can get is the iPad 10.2 of 2021, while for the Android tablet they have chosen Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A8. In both cases, these are WiFi-only models, so we will not be able to enjoy mobile data outside the home, and we will have to connect to a wireless network.
The conditions for each are as follows:

iPad 10.2 of 2021 (WiFi model and 64 GB of internal storage): for 9.80 euros per month for 48 months (total price: 470.40 euros).

Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 (WiFi model and 32 GB of internal storage): for 4.60 euros per month for 48 months (total price: 220.80 euros).
It cannot be ruled out that more models will arrive in the coming weeks. The same happened with the catalog of mobile phones for sale, which has changed its availability since the start of the service, where you can currently get these:

Conditions to keep these devices
The main requirement that the operator requires of us to be able to access the Rent to Rent rental service is to be a customer of a convergent fiber and mobile rate. Therefore, it will not be available to those customers who have only contracted a mobile rate. The acquisition of the mobile phone or tablet that we want will have to be carried out via the O2 website. Remember that it does not have any type of permanence.
And they are not the only points that we must take into account when buying a mobile or tablet in installments at O2. Once the 48 months have passed, we can return the device or, if we prefer, we can keep it in exchange for a payment of 1 euro.
Although, if we leave before the four years of the rental have passed, two points must be taken into account. First, in the case of returning the phone to O2, you will have to pay an early cancellation fee that will be between 70% and 90% of the cost of the device you have chosen at that time. And, secondly, if we keep the mobile, we will have to pay 100% of the updated cost of the terminal. That is, depending on the number of days that we have had the mobile, we will have to pay more or less.
