Peugeot e-308: 156 CV and 400 kilometers of autonomy

peugeot e-308

With the Peugeot e-308, the French compact completes the most varied range in its history: combustion engines, plug-in hybrids and now zero emissions. The electric car is located at an intermediate point of its offer, but it will have to wait until 2023 for it to go on sale.

Peugeot has shared very few images of the model, something that is due to the fact that it is basically identical to the rest of the range. The brand has not wanted to apply distinctive elements such as a specific grill (the most common solution in these cases) and has limited itself to installing 18-inch wheels with a design that helps efficiency.

Inside there are no notable differences with respect to the rest of the Peugeot 308 either, simply in the infotainment system menus there are specific graphics and display modes in accordance with the electric nature of the model (in addition to maintaining the usual elements such as the iCockpit with the 3D instruments).

Of its propulsion system, the truth is that the information is somewhat scarce. There will only be one mechanic available, a front-wheel drive with a 156 hp (115 kW) engine and 260 Nm of torque associated with a 54 kWh capacity battery.

With this combination, the brand advances an average consumption of 12.7 kWh/100 km and a range of 400 kilometers. In addition, it mounts an 11 kW three-phase on-board charger and can be connected to direct current outlets of up to 100 kW to fill from 20 to 80% of its capacity in 25 minutes.

The driver can choose between four different driving modes (ECO, NORMAL, SPORT and BRAKE) to manage energy consumption to his liking and, above all, to optimize its recovery.

Of course, at the moment neither its acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h nor its maximum speed has been revealed.

The French brand has advanced a fairly complete standard equipment (adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go, rear traffic alert and long-range blind spot control) and that the range will consist of two finishes, Allure and GT.
