Polaris Slingshot Roush Edition: extra sportiness

It starts at $37,349.

The Polaris Slingshot is one of the most peculiar vehicles on the market, since it is a car with only three wheels, two-seater and convertible. Its formula is the most attractive, but you can always add an extra spice, in this case by Roush Performance, which has created the Polaris Slingshot Roush Edition.

Contrary to what it might seem, this variant does not include an engine upgrade, but instead focuses on providing aesthetic modifications and also improvements in certain mechanical sections.

It is distinguished from other variants by the exclusive ‘Racetrack Red’ finish, the black logos and a specific steering wheel with a red mark at twelve o’clock, in the purest style of racing cars. In addition, graphics with the company’s image have been applied inside.

Among its equipment stands out the seven-inch screen, the multimedia system compatible with Apple CarPlay and, above all, the ‘Slingshot Excursion Top’, a hardtop that can be easily assembled or disassembled.

Optionally, extras such as a bumper to match the body color, storage bags, heated and ventilated seats or a higher quality sound system can be incorporated.

Entering the mechanics, it has 14% larger brake discs and is bitten by four-piston Brembo calipers. In addition, the brake and clutch pedals (on manual units) have been shortened and widened to improve control.

Lastly, as we already mentioned, the engine is the same one used by the Slingshot R on which it is based, a 153 CV block.

Chris Sergeant, Vice President of Polaris Slingshot, said: “We are proud to collaborate with Roush to offer a special edition like no other. We wanted to design a ride that truly reflected Roush’s performance heritage, while staying true to the wow factor and adventure-seeking lifestyle that only Slingshot offers.”

Pricing for the Polaris Slingshot Roush Edition for the United States starts at $37,349 and the first units are expected to arrive at dealerships in the spring of this year.
