Soria joins the list of cities in which the Police have had to intervene after learning that illegal car races are taking place. The events took place at dawn on January 7, but it was only now that those responsible for the operation made public what happened.
Official sources say that the agents were warned of “a concentration of people with the purpose of witnessing and/or participating in illegal vehicle races.” The place was an area close to the capital, where witnesses say that this is not the first time that this type of illegal event has taken place.

The alert gave way to a police device made up of several troops who appeared at the scene.

From the Soria Civil Guard Command they remember that participating in an illegal car race is included in the list of very serious infractions of the Road Safety Law. The fine for participating in a clandestine race is 500 euros and the withdrawal of six points from the driving license.
Participating in an illegal race can be considered a crime against road safety. In this regard, article 380 of the Criminal Code establishes that driving “a motor vehicle with manifest recklessness and specifically endangering the life or integrity of persons will be punished with prison terms of between 6 months and 2 years and deprivation of the right to to drive for more than 1 and up to 6 years”.
