Fernando Alonso is preparing for the start of his first season with Aston Martin. This has been his visit to the Silverstone facilities.
The Aston Martin F1 team has published a video after Fernando Alonso’s visit this week to its facilities, in the surroundings of Silverstone. The Asturian pilot had the opportunity to meet with his new engineers and colleagues, made the seat for the 2023 season and was also able to train in the simulator.

Arriving at the headquarters, Fernando Alonso greets several members of the Aston Martin team and gets his new seat, a key element to maximize comfort during his driving during the season.
It is especially striking that Alonso wears a helmet with camouflage decoration, but this is common at this time, since the team’s sponsors have not yet been revealed and Fernando keeps his design a secret until the start of the tests.
After getting out of the cockpit where he tries out the seat, you can see how Pedro de la Rosa – hired this season as an ambassador – is very attentive to his compatriot’s debut in the team. Also, Fernando embraces another old friend, Martin Whitmarsh, with whom both Pedro and Fernando worked at McLaren and who now serves as CEO of Aston Martin Performance Technologies.
Simulator tests
During his visit to the Aston Martin F1 headquarters, Alonso also had the opportunity to prepare for pre-season testing and the first race of 2023 in the team’s simulator, shooting at the Bahrain Circuit.
Although Alonso knows this circuit perfectly, which made its debut in Formula 1 in 2004 and where he knows what it means to win, it is a good opportunity to test the advances implemented in the Aston Martin AMR23 and continue testing point the machinery for the start of the course.

The Spanish flag flies at the Aston Martin headquarters
Although this detail does not appear in the video, it has been shown by the Aston Martin team in some images published on social networks. The team has placed a Spanish flag at the entrance to its current headquarters, along with the British (the team’s nationality) and the Canadian, in reference to his teammate, Lance Stroll.
This gesture has been applauded and thanked by Spanish fans through social networks.
