The Government could increase another 10 cents more the fuel bonus

The increase in fuel prices continues inexorably and the Government seems that it could take a new measure to try to alleviate the situation: the executive is considering extending the fuel bonus by another 10 extra cents.

The idea comes at a point where, even with the initial aid, the price of gasoline and diesel is more expensive than before they were implemented: the aid is 20 cents per liter, but since it was implemented a In just over two months, fuel prices have risen by 23 cts/l.

Gasoline is at prices of up to 2.11 euros per liter and diesel is at 2.01 euros, an upward trend that shows no sign of stopping. In addition, it must be remembered that its cost in Spain is currently above the European Union average and exceeds the prices of countries where purchasing power is greater.

With this situation, the Minister of Economy, Nadia Calviño, is evaluating new proposals. The first of them is to extend the aid beyond June 30 (something that she had already mentioned) and, something new, to increase the amount of these even more.

As reported by government sources to La Razón, the range that is handled is between 5 and 10 cents of extra bonus, but the amount could be even higher if the situation gets worse.

Of course, they also confirm that the approval of this extension depends on the Treasury, which is the one who has the last word and will not give approval unless the accounts balance.

Calviño has also pointed out that the National Commission for Markets and Competition is closely monitoring bad practices at gas stations, since cases have been detected in which some service stations were inflating prices, and they have been sanctioned with heavy fines. .
