The most curious image of the Singapore GP: Ocon, from F1 to the subway

After retiring at the Singapore GP, Esteban Ocon had to return to the Marina Bay Circuit paddock by subway.

Esteban Ocon, Fernando Alonso’s teammate in the Alpine F1 team, starred in one of the most curious images of the Singapore Grand Prix. The French driver, after being forced to retire on the urban track due to a mechanical problem, got out of his car and left the circuit.

Normally, in any other Formula 1 World Championship track, a marshal would have appeared on a motorcycle to rescue him and take him back to the paddock quickly. However, due to the curious configuration of the circuit, in the middle of the city and in a very small space, the pilot had to return to the paddock to meet up with his team, by subway!

The place where Ocon had stayed, at turn 13, was in the area opposite the pits of the Marina Bay Circuit, more than two kilometers away, so in the end it was easier to return to the paddock through one of the the subway stations just outside the loophole where he had been stranded.

As can be seen in the images that some fans captured and shared on social networks, the French pilot was accompanied by a local commissioner when entering the metro station, and he even came across several people who seemed neither! pay attention to who it was! Surely no one expected to find him there…

Esteban suffered the same fate as his teammate, Alonso, and had to retire due to a mechanical problem that prevented the two drivers of the French team from scoring points for the second consecutive race.
