The RH Customs Honda X4 Transformer

On the RH Customs website, responsible for this preparation, it says: «We manufacture and design custom motorcycles on request», Well, it is clear that the customer who has ordered this Honda X4 Transformer is a fan.

Specifically, it is inspired by Bumblebee, an autobot that transforms into a car, initially in a Volkswagen Beetle but later switched to a Chevrolet Camaro, and which has its own film.

Looking at the final result, there is no doubt that RH Custom has not been subtle, but we recognize that they have followed the Transformer spirit in this preparation.

And it is not easy to guess that under the eccentric body there is a Honda X4, a custom model from the late nineties that represented Honda’s response to the bestial Yamaha V-Max.

Standing up to him with his own weapons, since the Honda X4 incorporated a huge 1,300cc 4-cylinder in-line engine, although it only provided 100 HP compared to the 140 of the Yamaha.

This lower power along with other problems such as lack of stability at high speeds and high consumption did not help in sales, and production ceased in 2003.

After removing all the secondary elements of the Honda X4 keeping the engine, frame, fork, swingarm and brakes, a lot of work has been done to adapt it to the new bodywork.

Adopting a spectacular fairing in which the recreation of the head of the Transformer Bumblebee stands out as a lighthouse, including LED lighting in the eyes of the mask.

We must also highlight the paint job, a successful yellow hue with worn details that combines with the metallic parts inspired by the cylinder head covers of the Chevrolet Camaro SS.

Many changes

If all this wasn’t enough the guys at RH Customs have followed up with many changes to the Honda X4, such as the spoked wheels or the new handmade exhaust.

Many components of the rear have been eliminated to transform it, never better said, into a single-seater, giving prominence to the enormous rear tire that it incorporates.

It’s a pity that in our opinion all these changes go somewhat “unnoticed” given the excessive recreation of the head of the Transformer as a motorcycle headlight.

But if the owner is happy… who knows if the next order might be a Triumph Rocket III Optimus Prime or a BMW R18 Megatron.
