Speeding, followed by the consumption of alcohol and/or drugs and the inappropriate use of a helmet are the offenses for which motorists receive the most fines.
The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) closes the second special motorcycle surveillance campaign. During the days 3 and 4 of September, they have controlled almost 15,000 motorcycles of which a total of 492 have been sanctioned. In 23% of the cases the reason for the sanction was driving above the permitted limits.

The special motorcycle surveillance campaign has been carried out during the first weekend of September.
Agents of the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard and Local Police adhering to the campaign were in charge of extreme vigilance on roads especially frequented by motorists.
During these two days, Traffic has carried out a total of 14,990 controls, of which 11,236 have been carried out on conventional roads, since these are the most dangerous for this group as 77.6% of fatal accidents are concentrated on them .
The most common offenses among motorists
The balance of the special motorcycle surveillance campaign shows that, in two days, a total of 492 motorcyclists have been sanctioned.
Of all the controls carried out, the most common offense was speeding, with 112 complaints made (98 of them on secondary roads). In second position are the 63 penalties processed for driving motorcycles without the valid ITV.
In addition, 36 motorists have been sanctioned for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs; while 17 have been fined for not wearing a helmet for improper use of this protection system,
The list of fines imposed on motorcyclists is completed by the 38 sanctions processed for the use of silencers; another 30, for not respecting the continuous longitudinal mark; 20, for illegal overtaking; and 26, for not having the required documentation.
