Today we show you the trick that is used in places with intense cold so that your car starts, advice that will be practical in the middle of a cold wave.
Winter brings with it a general drop in temperatures and extreme cold is, like heat, one of the enemies of your car’s mechanics. When hot, the engine constantly struggles to maintain a proper operating temperature, while when cold it takes longer to reach operating temperature and makes starting difficult.
To help your car start more easily, today we want to show you what is the trick that is used in places with intense cold and that you can put into practice yourself. It is really easy to perform, it has a positive result and it has been used for a long time in areas where the mercury is below 0ºC for a good part of the year.
The trick that is used in places with intense cold so that your car starts
Among the many factors that can make it difficult for your car to start cold is the fact that the battery is not at the right temperature. This trick is all about how you can heat up the battery to minimize performance loss caused by cold weather.
There are different techniques that you can carry out, but one of the most effective and fastest is to use a hair dryer. The only thing you have to take into account in this technique is that you should not get the dryer too close to the battery (at least 15 cm away) and that you do not connect it to maximum power so that the battery gradually gains temperature and does not sudden.
To heat the car battery you can use other elements and tricks. For example, heat cloths or rags with an iron and apply them around the battery. This technique is slower and you will probably have to perform the operation several times until it has reached the optimal temperature.
You can also use a hot water bottle to achieve the same result. A bathroom heater or portable stove will also work to heat the battery. Of course, all these components must be dry and not leak liquids or water.
