This is Netflix’s most annoying feature, but it’s that easy to remove it

The amount of content in the form of videos offered by the Netflix streaming platform is constantly increasing. This gives us the possibility to choose from a huge number of movies, series or documentaries at all times.

Such is the case that the platform as such offers us a series of facilities to locate the content that interests us or that we want to reproduce at that moment. How could it be otherwise, this is something that is largely achieved through the user interface of the different official applications. It goes without saying that this is something that we achieve, for example, from our mobile devices or through the UWP application that we find in Windows, among other ways.

Likewise, we cannot forget the web version that Netflix offers us in order to access our account and videos available from the browser. Despite the importance of this streaming platform, that does not mean that the applications or the web version that we are commenting on are perfect, far from it. Many complain about the search engine that the platform makes available to us, or about the lack of categories when choosing certain content.

We can also find some operating errors that negatively affect the experience we can have on Netflix. But here we want to focus on another of the functions that most users do not like in the least. Specifically, we refer to the trailer or preview of the content every time we pass the mouse over it before choosing a video.

Prevent autoplay of videos in the Netflix interface

Surely it has happened to many of you on more than one occasion. We mean that they do not stop skipping content previews automatically before choosing a specific one in the main interface of the platform. These are advances in the form of a preview that Netflix presents to us for each of the titles that are offered in the main interface of the application or the web.

The truth is that despite the good intentions that the platform has for offering us this function, in most cases it is more annoying than useful. And it is that small windows with those previews do not stop appearing just by passing the mouse over each one of them. But fortunately it is something that we can deactivate if we wish, as we will show you.

For example, this is something that we are going to deactivate once and for all through the web version of the streaming video platform. In principle we only have access the official website enter our credentials. Next, we click on our user’s photo and select the Manage profiles link to select the one on which we will make the change.

Thus, at the bottom of the new window that appears on the screen we find the option that really interests us in this case. Specifically, we find a selector that says Automatically play the progress while browsing on all devices. It must be said that this functionality that we mentioned for video preview is active by default. Therefore, we only have to deactivate the selector in order to make these content previews disappear automatically.
