This is the fastest tractor in the world, yellow and at 247 km/h. Specifically, it is a modified Fastrac Two model from the English company JCB, a tractor that if it did not carry everything it carries would not exceed 20 km/h. Can you imagine going on a tractor at more than 100 km/h? And now keep thinking, can you imagine going over 200 km/h? It seems completely crazy, and it’s all part of a challenge to break the Guinness record.

The funniest thing is that it is yellow, as the song said. The rest is all serious, serious enough to reach that speed. And seriousness has led to the choice of a former motorcycle racing driver, Guy Martin, to tame the beast. He was in charge of taking the tractor at full speed along the runways of Elvington aerodrome, in the United Kingdom. The result was nothing less than 247 km/h top speed.

Record – JCB WFT Fastrac, the World’s Fastest Tractor

“It’s been a huge undertaking…so a big thank you to JCB and their engineering team who have absolutely nailed this tractor,” said driver Guy Martin after completing the challenge. This pilot was also in charge of carrying out the previous tests with the JCB. In June 2019 he broke the world record with the Fastrack One reaching a speed of 166.7 km/h. But it was sought to exceed 200 km/h, and so it was.

“Fastrac One has shown us that there are no limits to what a young and dynamic engineering team can achieve. So we have pushed the boundaries and ideas and looked at all aspects of the project to find solutions and make improvements,” said Tim Burnhope, Director of Innovation and Growth at JCB.

The engine of this tractor is a 7.2-liter turbo diesel capable of moving 1,016 horsepower with an incredible torque of 2,500 Nm at 3,150 rpm. The mechanics have a turbocharger and an electric supercharger that allows it to continue spinning at low revs, also mounting a completely modified exhaust system to improve combustion flow.
