Today we have a thematic session and, although it is already winter, it does not seem so: we are in Portugal, specifically in Estoril, in the classic Formula 1 circuit, and we have all the generations of the Civic Type R here together. We went through some more discreet , others that look like a spaceship, and finally we come to the current one, which has the same base as the previous model, the Honda Civic Type R 2023.
The new Honda, though, has a slightly longer wheelbase, but basically it’s an evolution. And that’s very good, because in terms of pure sportiness it maintains that of the previous generation, and for this reason it maintains a manual gear lever and the wonderful two-liter turbo engine, which now produces 329 hp. Yes, I know it should be 330, but in Europe you need a particulate filter, and that cost you a horse. But we have 20 Nm more torque, as in the previous model.
Well, I have already pulled the lever inside for April the engine of the new Honda Civic Type R. And as you can see, it does not have air suspension but a classic rod to hold it, In this way we have a complete view of the wonderful engine. After the turns that we have already given, I attest that it maintains an exceptional sound. Let’s close the hood again and head inside, where other sporty surprises await.
Inside we see honeycomb structures and some aluminum decorations, but the most striking are these red buckets. And the truth is that they have excellent lateral grip, also in the shoulder area, although visually it didn’t seem like it.
