How safe are the pick-ups? Volkswagen Amarok in the EuroNCAP tests. Does it get five stars? The model of the German brand faced the demanding security tests of the private company, thereby trying to demonstrate that its security level is very high. Last year the new Amarok arrived, a 5.35 meter long pick-up that has been developed together with Ford Australia and is manufactured in South Africa.

This model has managed to improve in quality to occupy a more premium position, and that also forces it to be safer. It allows to accommodate up to 500 kg in the bathtub and the total load capacity goes from one ton to 1.16 t. In addition, it is capable of supporting up to 360 kg on the roof, which is ideal for an overlanding type tent.

And thanks to the fact that the 2022 Amarok is a car that has an important technological arsenal that includes various driving assistance systems, it achieves five stars in EuroNCAP tests. It gets the highest score in this crash test, receiving 84% in adult safety, and equally 90% when it comes to child occupants. It protects pedestrians by 74% and receives a score of 84% in security systems.

What kind of tests have you faced? As usual, the model has been subjected to frontal impact, side impact and pedestrian tests, in addition to evaluating its different active safety systems. The Volkswagen model has been vetted based on equipment with, among others, car-to-car emergency braking, occupant condition monitoring and lane assist technologies.
