For a few months we have known that Vodafone is going to raise its rates in 2023 to adjust for inflation and we already know the official details about what the process will be like, how much each rate will increase, etc.
The operator has announced that it will be from next January 22, 2023 when the rate adjustments will begin based on the CPI, so, depending on when your billing cycle begins, you will be affected in one way or another by the first invoice with rise.
This will be the rise in Vodafone prices
Vodafone will increase the price of its rates according to the average interannual consumer price index (CPI) corresponding to the period between October 2021 and September 2022 as established in the contract.
The changes will be reflected as of January 22, but since the red operator has four different billing cycles (1 to 8, 8 to 15, 15 to 22 and 22 to 31 of each month), depending on the day that contracted your rate will be applied one way or another.
The prices of your Vodafone services are updated because from October 30, 2022 your contract with the company is adapted to the new General Telecommunications Law. According to the operator, this means that they have to incorporate a clause whereby the company has to update the price of its rates once a year “with the aim that our customers have from the outset the evolutionary framework of their rate with Vodafone under normal market conditions, all in a manner consistent with our commitment to transparency with the customer.”
The real translation of what this means is that this measure seeks to ensure the necessary resources for the deployment of networks, products and services in Spain.
List of rates adjusted to the CPI
As a consequence of this rise in prices because the Consumer Price Index has done so, Vodafone rates rise by about 4 euros per month on average, although obviously they depend on a percentage that is calculated on the value of your Vodafone rate.
For example, the main mobile rates look like this:
Vodafone rate | Actual Price | Price as of 1/22/2023 |
basic unlimited | 25 euro per month | 27 euros per month |
Unlimited Max | 33 euro per month | 35.60 euros per month |
big yuser | 15 euros per month | 16.20 euros per month |
Heavy Yuser | 20 euros per month | 21.60 euros per month |
Regarding the fiber and combined fiber and mobile rates, this is how the new rates will be adjusted to the CPI:
Vodafone rate | Actual Price | Price as of 1/22/2023 |
Fiber only 600 Mbps | 31 euros per month | 33.40 euros per month |
1 Gbps fiber only | 41 euros per month | 44.30 euros per month |
Yuser Fiber 600 Mbps | 32 euros per month | 34.50 euros per month |
One Unlimited Basic 600 Mbps | 49 euros per month | 52.90 euros per month |
One Unlimited Basic 1 Gbps | 59 euro per month | 63.69 euros per month |
One Unlimited Max 600 Mbps | 55 euros per month | 59.40 euros per month |
One Unlimited Max 1 Gbps | 65 euros per month | 70.20 euros per month |
One Unlimited Duo 600 Mbps | 70 euro per month | 75.60 euros per month |
One Unlimited Duo 1 Gbps | 80 euros per month | 86.39 euros per month |
