5 cars that (almost) nobody knows have an Audi engine

It is no mystery that many manufacturers share their engines with other brands as a means of lowering development costs. There are some cases that are more famous than others, while some are really a surprise. Today we are going to identify these 5 cars that hardly anyone knows have an Audi engine.

These five models, of which four are currently on sale, are equipped with Audi-sourced engines. In three specific cases, it is the same engine, but with different power levels. Porsche Cayenne

Something very similar happens with the Porsche Panamera. This is another of the models on the list that includes the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine of Audi origin among its engines. The range is very similar to that of the Cayenne, with three different versions equipped with this eight-cylinder engine.

From the Panamera GTS, which has 480 hp, to the 630 hp Panamera Turbo S, the German sedan range makes use of Audi’s V8 biturbo block in several models. Also included is a plug-in hybrid version, the 699bhp Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, which uses the V8 as the basis of its powertrain.

Lamborghini Urus

Cupra Formentor VZ5

This is the first model outside the brand with the four rings to be equipped with the famous 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder in-line engine. The limited edition Cupra Formentor VZ5 has the honor of sharing an engine with the Audi RS 3, the RS Q3 and the TT RS, the only models of the German company that have this block.

Thus, the Formentor VZ5 develops a power of 390 CV and a maximum torque of 480 Nm. It has a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic transmission that sends all the power to a 4Drive all-wheel drive system. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed limited to 250 km/h. Only 7,000 units of the most powerful Cupra in history will be manufactured.

This two-door coupe with a 2+2 configuration was launched on the market in 1976 as part of the Porsche transaxle family. Its production lasted until 1988 and more than 138,000 units of this Porsche with Audi engine were manufactured.
