Profiles for Amazon Prime Video
Just like with Netflix and Disney+, Amazon Prime Video allows you to create multiple profiles within one account. With Apple TV+ this works in a slightly different way, because you log in via your Apple ID. Creating profiles for Amazon Prime Video is easy to do in the mobile app on your iPhone and iPad.

Create Amazon Prime Video profiles
With an Amazon Prime Video subscription, you can create five other profiles in addition to the account owner’s default profile. A profile for children is already present by default. The profiles also sync between devices, so you can pick up where you left off on another device. That is how it works:
- Open the Prime Video app on your device.
- Tap My Stuff at the bottom right.
- Select the current user at the top left to access the overview. Now tap the plus sign.
- Enter a name and indicate whether it is a child profile.
Just like with Netflix and Disney+, you still all log in with the same account name and password. This function is mainly about splitting viewing behavior, so that Amazon can create a profile per person with viewing behavior and preferences. You manage all profiles via the main user’s account. This can also be done via the web browser, if you prefer that.
You can create a total of 6 profiles with this service, with the profile for children already present by default. However, you can also replace it with something else.
Switch between profiles on Amazon Prime Video
When you start the app, you are immediately logged in to the profile you last used. If you always have the same account, you only have to choose once. If not, you can switch by tapping My Stuff at the bottom right and then choosing the correct profile.
Customize Amazon Prime Video profiles
You can edit existing profiles by going to the list of profiles via the steps above. Then tap Edit and adjust the name and possibly the switch for the kids profile. If you cannot find the option you are looking for, you can also manage the profiles via the web browser.
Amazon Prime Video is a free part of the Amazon Prime account and offers all kinds of its own series. If you do not need the Prime service, you can also disconnect the video service separately.
