The War in Ukraine continues to have repercussions on the part of the motor world brands: now they are Ferrari and Lamborghini who have decided to stop doing business in Russia and those who have also announced that they are going to collaborate financially with Ukraine.
The firm from Maranello has explained that it is going to donate one million euros to the country, in addition to helping to welcome refugees in its area, while the one from Sant’Agata Bolognese has been more sparing in details, but has commented that it is going to collaborate directly with UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said: “Ferrari stands with all those affected in Ukraine by this ongoing humanitarian crisis. While we hope for a speedy return to dialogue and a peaceful solution, we cannot remain indifferent to the suffering of all those affected.”
He adds: “Our thoughts and support are with them. We are doing our little part alongside the institutions that are providing immediate relief to this situation. It will finance international humanitarian projects that support Ukraine, as well as local initiatives focused on the reception of refugees in the Italian region.”
For its part, Lamborghini has also sent a statement: “Automobili Lamborghini is deeply saddened by the events in Ukraine and views the situation with great concern. Lamborghini hopes for a quick end to hostilities and a return to diplomacy.”
They are not the first (nor surely the last) brands that have taken sides in the situation and have acted accordingly, among which are Ford, Porsche or Volkswagen. For its part, Michelin has deleted allusions to Russia from its guide.
In addition, as a result of the conflict, a new shortage of components is also taking place, as well as stoppages in production that add to the situation of microchips.
