Every day we use some of the services and applications made available to us by the search giant, Google. This extends to the entire globe, so the company tries to constantly improve all of this and adapt to the current times, as is the case that we are going to tell you about.
Hence the updates that it sends us periodically to improve some of these services that some of us use practically daily. For example, along these same lines we are going to focus on applications that are part of its Workspace service and that are widely spread throughout the world. To give you a better idea of what we are telling you, this directly affects online services such as Google Calendar Drive or Docs.
News released for Google Calendar
One of the most popular applications from this firm is Calendar, a service that we use both from our mobile phone and from our PC to organize our lives. In addition, we synchronize the entries that we enter here between different devices. Well, the search engine company itself has just announced some interesting news. At this point it is worth noting that from now on users will be able to see their own task lists in full screen on the platform.
Basically this means that we will have the opportunity to take advantage of a full-screen desktop view with all the tasks, directly from the Calendar web application. It must be taken into consideration that all Google Workspace users and those who have personal Google accounts can access this new functionality.
In order to benefit from this new functionality, we only have to access the Google Calendar web application in the conventional way. Next, we now have the possibility of clicking on the tasks icon in the top bar. Here it is worth noting that now Google has begun to roll out the function little by little to everyone. We may have to wait a few days until we can use it starting next December 1st.
Other improvements coming to Docs and Drive
But those are not the only new features that we are going to find, since it also introduces some improvements and new features in its Docs and Drive services. For example, in your office suite we will now find the possibility of adding smart tabs. Specifically, here we are referring to interactive elements that we will have the possibility of adding to text documents or spreadsheet files. These help us to provide additional information about that file to other people.
As you can imagine, this will be extremely useful when we are going to share these files created in Docs with other people. As the company informs us, these smart sheets allow you to access AppSheet data directly from Docs. All this allows you to view the stored data and make changes to it. Among the available actions we highlight the activation of automations, all without leaving Docs.
This is a feature that will be available to all Google Workspace customers who have AppSheet licenses. Finally, it announces that users can edit and respond to different activities in Drive. It refers to using requests to share comments on documents, all directly from the Google Drive Chat app. This means that activities in Google Docs, Sheets and Slides can be responded to directly from your Chat service.
