The Facebook app on iOS lets you browse your timeline and browse posts, photos, videos, and likes from your friends. By default, the Facebook iOS app displays the timeline according to certain algorithms, such as putting the most popular posts at the top. If you prefer to have the most recent posts at the top, that’s possible too. But it’s well hidden!
Facebook Most Recent Posts
The option to view your timeline with the most recent posts at the top is hidden in the Facebook menu. Facebook would obviously prefer you to view your timeline based on an algorithm, so that you see the most spectacular posts. After all, these posts are most likely to provoke anger or amazement, which makes you want to share them right away.
Please note that the Facebook app can look different for each person. As a result, an option may be in a slightly different place or have a different name. But usually it is self-explanatory.
Here’s how to get a Facebook timeline in chronological order:
- Open the Facebook app.
- Tap your account picture at the bottom right to open the menu.
- Tap on Overviews.
- You will now see the most recent messages first.
Unfortunately, this choice is not saved, so you will have to browse to Overviews again and again.
You now get to see the messages in order of time. Previously you could also specify this more precisely, for example family and close friends first, but Facebook removed that option.
