It is likely that you decided to change your lifestyle and get around the city in a different way than UBER. It is also possible that you have become bored with the service or its dynamic rates and prefer a more flexible system according to your tastes and preferences. Or maybe you feel that the service does not provide you with the security you deserve as a user. Therefore, regardless of the reason, if you are a user of the service offered by UBER and you have decided to delete your account, you are in the right place.
Here we will indicate how you can do it, luckily, it is relatively easy from the same application. However, you should keep in mind that, at first, you will only be able to temporarily deactivate or delete your account.
But after 30 days of inactivity, UBER’s technical team will permanently delete your record from its platform. Now, we will show you how to delete your UBER user account, which we will explain step by step below.
How to delete your Uber account through the mobile app
- Step One: You will need to launch the UBER APP from your smartphone. Make sure you’re logged in from your personal account and not someone else’s so you don’t have any problems later.
- Step Two: Within the UBER application in the upper left corner of the screen, you will need to tap on the menu icon, symbolized by three horizontal bars.
- Step Three: Once the menu appears on your screen, select the word settings.
- Step Four: Then touch the screen where it says privacy settings again.
- Step Five: Next, select delete your account.
- Step 6: At this point the UBER app will ask you to verify your password. You must write it in the space offered by the APP and then you must press verify.
- Step 7: After pressing verify, the Uber platform will take you to another page of its web domain. In it, UBER will inform you that your account will be deactivated and, in 30 days, it will be deleted. In addition, as a curious fact, it will inform you how many trips you made with UBER and once the process is finished, you must click on continue.
- Step 8: Lastly, you will be asked to share or elaborate on why you want to delete your UBER account. It is important that you are aware that it is not necessary to complete this form. But it is an excellent opportunity if you want to air your complaints about the company. Once this step is finished, you must select the box identified as cancel.
- Step 9: Oddly enough Uber will again give you the ability to undo the cancellation or re-activate your Uber account. But if you are totally decided you should finally press the delete icon to make it permanent.
- It should be noted that UBER currently only allows you to delete your personal account from the application. However, if you’re having trouble removing it, we’ll also show you how to request help from UBER from your desktop computer.
