No one is exempt from software glitches and you may also need to recover IncrediMail folders. This sometimes occurs without warning or apparent explanation, causing no small concern to users.
After all, if you’re organizing your emails and files in folders, it’s precisely because you care about their fate. So if this has happened to you or you want to know if it happens to you, pay attention to these methods.
Recover IncrediMail folders
The principle is simple: The fact that the folders are not visible does not mean that they are not there. In other words, the fault may lie in the system’s supervision of the folders and not of the folders themselves.
The good news is that this means that the data is not lost and instead is only virtually invisible. The bad news is that this is due to a specific file that is causing this error. Fortunately, you just have to follow these steps to remedy this situation quickly and easily.
First step: Identify the data folder
To recover your folders, the first thing you should do is run IncrediMail and once in the application enter the “Tools” menu. Then you must select “Options” and finally go to “Data folder settings”.
Thanks to this, the information you are looking for will be displayed through an address route. It is essential to copy it because you will need it later.
Step Two: Turn off IncrediMail
This is crucial because you are about to alter its operation and if it is active you risk some malfunction. For this reason, please make sure that it is inactive from now on.
Third step: Locate the data folder
Once you’ve copied the path to this folder, the easiest thing you can do is open your browser and copy it into the address bar. By pressing the “Enter” key you will immediately find yourself in the folder you need.
Fourth step: Navigate
It is time to find the file that generates the error and thus recover the IncrediMail folders. To do this, you must now enter the “Identities” folder and in it you will find one or more folders identified with a long number. In each of these you must locate the “Message Store” folder.
Step Five: Delete “Folders.imm”
At this point, what corresponds is to locate the “Folders.imm” file and delete it. Make sure that you have deleted it from each and every one of the aforementioned folders, repeating the process as many times as necessary. By doing so, you can close the browser and start the program again, because with this you should recover the IncrediMail folders.
Other alternative methods
If the above steps have not resolved the problem or it is something more serious like a disk format, there is still a solution.
The most basic thing would be to restore previously made backups. In this sense, Windows itself offers a data recovery center. This way all you need to do is run it from the start menu
When activated you must follow the indicated instructions and select IncrediMail when applicable. Similarly, select original location to recover IncrediMail folders to their place.
Finally, the most advanced option would be to resort to a third-party program specially designed to recover data. This would be the most aggressive method and reserved only for the most serious cases (only if no solution works for you). Once you have recovered your folder folders, IncrediMail has a feature to insert background sound to mail if you wish.
One of the most recommended in this particular is IncrediMail Outlook Converter that also offers other utilities. Once installed, you will be able to resort to its data recovery option and this should put an end to the problem.
