How to use special phone codes on iPhone

Want to quickly look up your IMEI number? Make an anonymous phone call? It is possible with these special telephone codes for the iPhone. In this article we list them.

In your iPhone’s Phone app, you can enter special codes to request additional information. You can request settings, forwarding options and other things if you know the correct codes. If you only want to adjust settings, go to Settings > Phone to do that. The telephone codes we discuss below are more for information purposes.

How to use phone codes on iPhone

The following phone codes offer nice options to view statistics for the iPhone, but you can also change all kinds of phone settings with them. The codes sometimes also work on devices from other brands. To use the codes, go to the Phone app and tap Keys. Enter the code and press the green button.

  • *#06#: Shows the IMEI code of the iPhone. You can also find this out via the Settings app (Settings > General > About).
  • *#21#: Shows forwarding options that are active on the iPhone.
  • *#43#: Shows if the wait option is active on the iPhone.
  • *#30#: Shows whether the caller display setting (Who is calling you?) is active.

How to use phone codes on iPhone

  • *#33#: Indicates whether certain telephone functions such as SMS are blocked.
  • #31#: Temporarily call without caller ID. If you want to call someone without giving them your number, enter #31# and then the number via the keypad. So #31#123456789 and press Call. If your caller ID is turned off by default, you can also call *31# and the relevant number to temporarily enable caller ID.
  • *3001#12345#*: Activate the Field Test Mode. View advanced statistics about your iPhone, such as connection signals. This is more intended for technicians, but anyone can join.
