Listening to music has become one of the most common practices we do with our computer. Whether playing CDs, listening to our downloaded music or through streaming platforms, the truth is that music is a fundamental element. To be able to enjoy it, it never hurts to improve the quality of the audio on our computer, something that we can do with these tricks that we can do from Windows and without the need for specific hardware elements or sound equipment.
As it is logical to think, the quality of the audio that our computer emits is conditioned by the hardware of your equipment, mainly we speak in this case of the sound card that we have installed. And it is that the audio is not always going to be heard in the same way on all computers. In case of not having a special equipment for the audio, it is also possible to improve its quality.
Sometimes we tend to relate the improvement of the audio with the power of the volume. For this reason, to better listen to any song, we choose to increase the volume, either from the player itself or by regulating it directly from the speakers or headphones themselves. However, if what we really want is for our music to sound better, we can use both the built-in equalizer in the Groove Music application and by activating Spatial Sound within the Windows settings.
Use Groove and its equalizer to improve the audio
Although many users are unaware of its existence, the Groove Music app is built into Windows 10 by default. Beyond listening to our music album lists, this program has a tool that will help us improve the quality of the sound. This tool is none other than its own built-in equalizer, through which we can make the most of the audio we hear.
Accessing the equalizer is very simple. We just need to click on the gear button in Groove’s main menu and its Settings menu will appear from where we can launch it. With the help of this tool we can adjust the gain to improve the quality of the audio, depending on the type of music we are listening to. Each point corresponds to specific tones so we can regulate it to our liking until we get the desired sound. In addition, we can also use its predefined settings aimed at increasing bass, increasing treble, or depending on whether we are using headphones, laptop, television, car, etc.
Also, turn on Windows Spatial Sound
Another trick that we can find in Windows to improve audio quality is to enable its so-called Spatial Sound (Windows Sonic). With this we can obtain better performance from our headphones. This feature is Microsoft’s attempt to improve the spatial sound experience for all of its users, as it does not require any physical equipment or specific hardware requirements to function. It is based on the use of virtual media and software to achieve its goal. Through its use we will achieve a better optimized surround sound making us perceive the music in all directions. In addition, it also improves the sound perception from top to bottom vertically. Activating it is as simple as clicking on the audio button on the taskbar and selecting the Spatial Sound option. Here we can activate Windows Sonic.
