From now on, customers of the commission-free online bank will have a new limitation on bank transfers. Depending on the movements made online, it will affect you directly or not. But, in any case, it is a change in this service that the bank offers to its users. Furthermore, it has already been modified.

As much as Bizum has become one of the great options to send money immediately to friends, family or other contacts, transfers are still one of the most used alternatives to send large amounts of money to other people. Well, from now on, there is a new limit on the amount that can be sent through the app or the website. So if you are an ING customer, this type of transaction will forever change online.

What changes in online transfers

It is not something that can affect everyone, but it can affect those clients who want to make an online transfer of a large amount of money from now on. Specifically, ING has decided to limit the fact that transfers of more than 15,000 euros cannot be made to other people online. This means that they cannot be done through their mobile application or from their website. An important change that has begun to be applied since December 9, 2024.

ING bank app

As the online entity explains, this is a new change that affects the transfer service from now on, since this novelty began to be applied on the 9th. On the other hand, in addition to sending no longer giving the possibility of sending 15,000 euros to other people in a single batch, the sum of all online transfers is also limited. This means that on the same day, the total sum of your transfers with ING may not exceed 15,000 euros at any time. So it is another of the new details that must be taken into account with this type of online transactions through the accounts of this particular bank.

Does it affect all clients?

Within ING’s own announcement to its clients about this change in the transfer service, the following is explained regarding which transfers this change does not affect:

«This does not affect the transfers you have made so far, but it does affect those you make later. Furthermore, it does not affect you if the destination account is one of your favorites and you have made more than two transfers over €15,000 in the last year to that account.”

Now, what you have to be clear about is that these types of transactions that you want to make online, the truth is that they will not be possible. ING’s solution? They only warn that if you as a customer need to make a transfer greater than this amount, you will have no choice but to go to their offices or, if this is not possible, contact them through their different customer service channels.
