The price of gasoline has been making headlines for days (and what remains). This has meant that, temporarily, we have stopped talking about the Government’s intention to raise taxes on diesel without realizing that diesel exceeds two euros/liter in more than a hundred petrol stations.

Data published by the website dieseolgasolina.com, indicate that, today, March 12, the service stations start the day with an average price of 1,932 euros/liter for diesel. This means that there has been a very slight decrease compared to yesterday’s figures (1,939 euros/litre).

The objective of the Government (national and European) is to gradually increase the taxes on the price of diesel to bring it closer to gasoline and thus eliminate the incentive that drives the sale of these less polluting vehicles. Right now this is a reality, since the difference between the two fuels is only 0.063 euros/litre.

A look at the data published by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge shows that there are already more than a hundred service stations where diesel is refueled at more than two euros per liter.

Right now the gas station with the most expensive diesel in Spain is in Jaén. Located in the town of Aldeahermosa, with the Aldeahermosa Oils label, it supplies diesel at 2,276 euros/litre. This means that filling a 50 liter tank costs 113.8 euros!

They are followed by the two BPs of Dos Hermanas (Seville), with a liter of diesel at 212 euros. Seville has a total of 11 service stations with diesel for more than two euros.

In Barcelona there are four service stations that charge more than two euros per liter of diesel: Repsol de La Garraga (2,079 euros/litre); Q8 from El Masnou (2,069); Repsol de Manresa (2,049) and Confort Auto del Carrer Number Three (2,019).

While in Madrid there are eight service stations where diesel is sold for over two euros; the most expensive in the capital is BP Gasóleo Torrejón, in the town of Torrejón de Ardoz (2,059 euros/litre).
