During the next month of March the international presentation of the new Yamaha Ténéré 700 Extreme Edition will take place, and its commercialization should not take much longer.

It is a version that is located halfway between the standard Yamaha Ténéré 700 and the World Raid. So this may be the perfect motorcycle for many users and fans of trail adventure. Let’s see why.

Visually, its raised front fender stands out, which accentuates its clear preference for off roading. In addition, it incorporates a flat Rally-type seat and “field” footpegs made of titanium. They are 200 gr lighter than the standard ones and with 20% more support surface for the feet. The lighting is of course Full Led and has a USB socket.

On the other hand, and much more remarkable, the Yamaha Ténéré 700 Extreme Edition incorporates the KYB suspensions of the World Raid version. In other words, an inverted fork with 43 mm diameter bars with a travel of 230 mm, 20 mm more than the standard version. In the same way, it takes its 220 mm multi-adjustable KYB shock.

The well-known 690 cc CP2 engine with liquid cooling, 4 valves and the crankshaft set at 270º does not change anything. Its qualities and reliability are well known, and with its 73.4 CV it offers constant traction from low revs which is ideal when driving on dirt or asphalt. In addition, with the fuel tank of 16 liters of capacity and its consumption content, an excellent autonomy is more than assured.

For its part, ABS has three different configurations. In the first, it acts on both trains, front and rear. In the second, it only does so on the front brake, leaving the rider full control over the rear wheel. While in the third it is completely disconnected.

We are already looking forward to trying the New Yamaha Ténéré 700 Extreme Edition, a motorcycle that will surely make us smile big inside the helmet.
