Print reminders: This is what you need
To print your Reminders to-do lists from your iPad or iPhone, you need two things. Therefore, check in advance whether you have:
- An iPad or iPhone with iOS 14.5 or newer
- A printer with AirPrint, connected to a WiFi network.
Only printers that support AirPrint let you print wirelessly (without an app) from your iPad or iPhone. Would you like to learn more about AirPrint and which printers are suitable? Then read the article below.

- Mac
iPhone and iPad
- Open the Reminders app and tap on a list under the My Lists heading.
- Then tap the circle with three dots in the top right corner.
- Choose the Print option. A window will now open in which you can preview your print.
- If a printer is not already selected, tap Choose printer.
- Finally, tap Print at the top right.
Bonus tip 1: You can also make a spreading motion with your fingers in step 3 and save the list as a PDF. You can read how this works in our tips about creating PDFs on the iPhone.
Bonus tip 2: It is possible to arrange the items on your list in different ways. You can do this manually by simply dragging one of the words with your finger, but you can also have it done automatically. In the same menu you can choose Sort by, where you can sort parts based on name, creation date or priority.
Mac
You can also easily print your list with the Reminders app on the Mac. You need macOS Big Sur 11.3 or newer for this. This is how you print it:
- Open the Reminders app and choose a list under My Lists.
- In the top menu bar, click File > Print. You can also go
Command + P
press on your keyboard. - You will see a preview of your list. If necessary, choose some additional settings, such as copies and make sure that the correct printer has been chosen.
Why print reminders?
The advantage of printing your list is that you can easily check off your tasks with a pen or pencil. It may be more useful to have a printed list in some situations, for example if you have to pack when you move. Everyone can check off tasks on a printed list, while in the Reminders app this is only possible if you share it with someone else.
