It is something that regular users of games on the PC platform are fully aware of. We mean that one of the main objectives that are sought is the best possible performance when running our favorite titles. But sometimes we run into various issues when playing the game, for example, if we run titles from our Origin library.
Almost no one is aware that the malfunction or multiple failures that can occur when trying to run games on our computer is a major annoyance. These errors can be translated in multiple ways. In some cases we find that we cannot run our video games from the corresponding client, for example, Origin. It can also be the case that it starts to load, but never ends. Likewise, we can find jumps and blockages when enjoying our games.
There is no doubt that all these situations are quite annoying and inconvenient for most of the users, so they try to solve it in the most effective way. We have mentioned Origin’s proposal precisely because we want to talk to you about this gaming platform and its Windows client. As with the rest of the proposals of this type, when launching our library titles, we can find problems such as those mentioned above. Whatever the error that does not allow us to play or enjoy these video games as we should, let’s see a very effective solution.
As happens in many other programs in other software sectors, cleaning the cache memory in the client of the aforementioned platform can help us.
Clear Origin cache and fix game crashes
This is a temporary memory element used by many applications to gain performance. But at the same time it is a major source of problems over time, as is the case with internet browsers, for example. That is why in these same lines we are going to show you the easiest way to delete this cache and thus solve the possible problems that we have with the games in Origin.
We must bear in mind that on certain occasions it will even be impossible for us to put into operation these titles that we have saved in our client’s personal library. Therefore, in order to continue enjoying them without problems, let’s see how to delete the cache that is generated automatically. To do this, the first thing we do is go to the disk location where the game client was installed. As a general rule, we use the default disk location that the program proposes.
To access here we use the Win + R key combination, and once we have the execution box on the screen, we enter the following command:
%ProgramData%/Origin
This will open a file explorer window and take us to the disk location where the client was installed.
Therefore, to clean the cache, which is what we are interested in in this case, we only have to delete all the files and folders except for the LocalContent call. From there we will be able to put the client back into operation and possibly the bugs in the Origin games will have been solved.
