Send email to multiple people once with your iPhone or iPad

If you don’t send many emails to the same groups of people, this is the fastest way to send an email to a group. You manually enter each email address or contact here. It doesn’t matter if you have the email addresses saved in your contacts, but it does make this process a little easier. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Mail app and tap the new mail button.
  2. Enter the contact names and/or email addresses in the To field at the top. After typing an email address, tap enter.
  3. Made a mistake? Tap behind the error on your screen and hit the backspace button.
  4. Fill in the rest of the email and tap Send at the top right.

Regularly send an email to a group

This part of the tip comes in handy if you send emails to the same people more often. Does it sometimes deviate from one or two people? That does not matter. We explain how to make a fixed selection of people. You can still adjust this while emailing, so you don’t have to create a group for every scenario. How to proceed:

  1. Go to iCloud.com and open the Contacts app.
  2. Create a new group by double clicking in the left column.
  3. Enter the name of the group, for example ‘Colleagues’ and press enter.
  4. In the left column, click All contacts and search for the people who need to be in the group.
  5. Drag the contacts into the created group by first grabbing their name in the contact list.

Groups create email iCloud

You have now created a group. It may take a while for all of this to sync with your other devices. Once that’s done, you can compose an email to the group. You need to make much less effort than if you type in all the names manually. Watch:

  1. Open the Mail app and tap the new mail button.
  2. In the To field at the top, enter the name of the group you just created and tap the suggestion.
  3. All members of the group are populated. Remove any people you don’t want to take with you.
  4. Add extra person? Then type in the email address or name and add them.
  5. Fill in the rest of the email and tap the Send button at the top right.
