If you are a big fan of streaming and audiovisuals, you probably already know Plex, a platform for your mobile phone or computer with which to watch series and movies for free, as well as live television. Well, through the Kodi multimedia center, it is possible to watch Plex channels from our computer, Smart TV, or device on which we have it installed, thus increasing our catalog of television channels by hundreds at no cost. Below we explain how you can do it.

These free channels that you will be able to add to your TV are completely legal, since they are FAST channels: channels that are distributed in streaming for free in exchange for including advertising breaks. Plex includes many channels of this type, and thanks to Kodi, we can access them from home comfortably.

Before following the steps we list below, you must have Kodi previously installed on your television (if that is where you are going to watch it). If you don’t have it yet, you can consult our tutorial about it and then return to it. You can also install Kodi via Chromecast or on Amazon Fire TV, as well as LG televisions. If you want to have Kodi on your computer, you can use this guide.

Installing Slyguy and Plex Live

In order to access these FAST channels on Kodi, we will first have to install the Slyguy repository in the media center. To do this, the steps to follow are as follows:

  • In case you have not yet installed external content on Kodi, you will first have to enable the option to install content from external sources. You can do this by heading to Settings (gear icon) within Kodi. Within this menu, look for System > Add-ons > Activate the ‘Unknown Sources’ option if it is not enabled.
  • Once this is done, we start from the main menu to enter the Settings > File Explorer tab again.
  • In this menu, you must select ‘Add source’.
  • On the screen that appears, you must click on ‘None’, and in the writing bar, you must enter the url [https://slyguy.uk].
  • We click OK and write a name for this content source, which can be anything. Once a name has been written, the OK key will appear, and we will click on it.
  • Once this is done, you must return to the main Kodi Settings screen, to enter the ‘Add-ons’ section.
  • In this menu, you must click on the ‘Install from a .zip file’ option. From the list that opens, you must select the one with the name that we entered previously.
  • We click on it, and we will see a file in .zip format. We select it and wait for it to install.

Plex platform

After having correctly installed the Slyguy repository, we will have to install the add-on with which we can watch the free Plex channels. For it:

  1. We return to the Kodi Settings menu and enter the ‘Add-ons’ section.
  2. Click on the ‘Install from repository’ option.
  3. We enter the Slyguy repository and select the ‘Video Add-ons’ option.
  4. In the list that appears, you will have to look for the add-on called Plex Live. We click on it and install it, along with its add-ons if we don’t have them.
  5. We return to the main Kodi screen by pressing the Back key until we reach it.
  6. We go down to the ‘Add-ons’ tab and click on the Plex Live icon.
  7. Here, we click on ‘Live TV’ and select the country.

Ready. Once these steps are completed, we should see all the Plex channels on the screen that we will be able to freely access from Kodi on our computer or television.

You can learn more about Plex and its free television service on its page Web. And in case you don’t know it, you can also check out Pluto TV, a platform with FAST channels and broadcast in Spanish.
