In the last few hours, instead of revealing TDTChannels news related to the introduction of more channels, what the app team has done was reveal something different. In this case, it is bad news, since the service leaves aside support for one of the formats of its channel lists.

The last few weeks had been good for the TDTChannels user community. First, the availability of the official application in the Google Play store was recently recovered, from where it had disappeared some time ago. Then, we started the year 2025 with a channel update that went very well. But now, as we indicated, the news is not so good.

Goodbye to W3U lists

There are many different ways to access TDTChannels channels, both in the form of an application and through their website or by using their channel lists. For a good part of users, this last system is the ideal, which provides a large amount of flexibility. Therefore, the news of the end of the availability of the W3U format will most likely not be well received. This format, which uses JSON to store its lists, represents an improvement over the availability of M3U lists.

With the disappearance of this list format, there may be users who miss some W3U functions, such as access to additional information in the files. In any case, taking into account the wide range of alternative options that are available, it may not end up being a very significant absence.

What formats are still available?

As we indicated, TDTChannels has the needs of users covered with a wide series of list formats that continue to be available. In the absence of the M3U format you can continue using the JSON, M3U8, M3U or M3U8 + MPD lists. In the case of JSON, you can use this format if your intention is to view the TDTChannels channels with the player that is available on both iOS and Android. You will get both the JSON file and the other list formats from the TDTChannels website by clicking on Lists.

TDTChannels recommends the use of M3U8 and resorting to M3U only in cases where you cannot use the previous proposal. For its part, the combination of M3U8 and MPD is a good addition because it incorporates not only the channels on the M3U8 list, but also those that are broadcasting in MPD. In any case, to know more about these lists and formats, it is best to visit the application’s website and download the download that interests you there.

A list of channels from the TDTChannels service

What is very important to remember is that it is not advisable to download lists or other files from other types of pages. This will prevent you from exposing yourself to risks and having to face some type of infection. On the other hand, keep in mind that, as we said before, you also have access to playback of TDTChannels channels from its website or through an application.

It is possible that, after this change in the use of the application’s lists, we will soon find ourselves with a new update. Taking into account the precedents, it is possible that it will happen soon in view of the fact that there are channels that users are requesting to be added and that, as is often the case, the TDTChannels team does not usually take too long to incorporate them into their service. Although the disappearance of the M3U lists is an unexpected change, at least you can see that the app continues to look forward stably.
