In the market we can find a large number of applications that allow us to display the screen of our PC in Windows, however, these applications do not offer the option to control it remotely using the keyboard and mouse.
The number of applications that allow us to perform this function is limited to paid applications, however, not all of them establish a paywall. Scrcpy is an open source application that allows us to display the content of our mobile phone on our PC screen and control it with the keyboard and mouse, a function that is especially useful when we want to use a platform that is not available via the web or the web leaves a lot of space. be desired.
How to view and control the screen of an Android mobile
With Scrcpy we can not only access our mobile from Windows, but it is also available for macOS and Linux. The process we must carry out is somewhat laborious, but following the steps that we show you below, it is a piece of cake. The application is available through the following link to the GitHub repository. Next, we unzip the file.
First of all, we must access the mobile and enable the USB Debugging option. This option is found within the mobile developer options. If this menu is found, we must activate it by accessing the System menu and repeatedly clicking on Build Number to activate it. Once we connect the mobile phone to the computer, we select the Transfer files option.
Using a cable
If instead of using the Wi-Fi connection we choose to use the much faster wired connection, the command to run Scrcpy is:
scrcpy --select-usb
Via WI-Fi
Next, we connect the mobile phone to the computer and make sure that both are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Next, we must know what the IP address of our mobile phone is, information that we will find in the Wi-Fi section of our mobile phone. Next, we access the folder where it is located and write the following
adb tcpip 5555
Next, we can disconnect our mobile from the computer and enable the connection using the following command, replacing xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with the IP of our mobile device.
adb connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5555
Finally we run the Scrcpy application with the command
scrcpy --select-tcpip
A new window will automatically open in Windows showing the image of our Android mobile on the screen. From this moment, we can click with the mouse on any application to open and use the keyboard to write.
If we rotate our phone so that the content is seen horizontally, the application window will rotate to adapt to how the content is displayed. We also have the possibility of maximizing the application window so that it appears full screen. The process is the same as with any other application, click on the Maximize button.
To stop using the application, we just have to close the application by clicking on the X located in the upper right.
