The Amazon Fire TV Stick is an essential device that allows you to turn any television into a smart one thanks to an HDMI plug that will allow you to install all kinds of games, streaming applications and functions without the need for your TV to be “smart”. But unfortunately, it’s not perfect. You cannot use HBO Max on your Fire TV Stick by downloading it from the app store. But there are some tricks to use it and this trick will allow you to watch HBO Max without downloading anything.
Unlike other television dongles, such as Google Chromecast with Google TV, Amazon’s does not allow us to download the HBO Max application from the device’s native application store. We can install Netflix, we can install Disney+ and other services like Movistar Plus+ or Filmin or Amazon Prime Video but we cannot watch HBO Max unless we follow some tricks that will allow us to force the content to play. Although there are several ways to do it, the most convenient is the one that we will explain below: use the browser to access the HBO Max series and movies.
To access what we will do is use the HBO Max browser option instead of the device application. You simply have to go to the HBO Max website and log in with your data. There are some streaming services that allow it and others do not, but in this case we will be lucky that they do, so it will be enough to download a browser (or look for it among your applications if you already have it installed) and access the app. We explain it to you step by step.
download a browser
The first step is easy: you just need to install a browser. And there are many options available in the Amazon store to download natively and legally. We can choose the one that we like the most or that is most comfortable for us, but the Amazon Fire TV Stick, and any other model in the Fire family, has the Silk browser installed by default.
So we only have to use the remote to go to the section where you can see all your applications and games to find the browser, to use Silk. Once here, we look for where it says “Internet” with a logo similar to the one you will see in the image below. Click on it and you will access a browser that gives us access to the Internet and allows us to access any website. Among her, the one that interests us to achieve our mission: that of HBO Max in Spain.
Access the HBO Max website
When we are already inside the browser and we have opened the HBO Max website, we will only have to access with our personal data. Of course, it is obvious and you must bear in mind that you will need to be previously registered on the streaming platform if you want to be able to access the series and movies and there is no trick to do it if you do not have a previously paid profile.
When you have it and with the browser on your television, open the website of the streaming service and look for the button that allows you to log in to HBO Max. Generally, this will appear in the upper right corner. Tap on “login” and use your Amazon Fire TV Stick remote to fill in the letters and digits of your email and password.
If there are several profiles, you will have to choose yours. And we will have finished the process. Once we are inside, we can see all the content of HBO Max in the same way that we would in the browser on our computer. You simply have to choose the profile from among all the available ones and watch the series or movies you want.
In addition, it is advisable that you save the password in the browser so that the next times you log in you only have to go to the web page and we will automatically enter to see the content without having to enter the email and the password.
Other options
Beyond the browser, we can also install the application by forcing said installation. There are a few ways to download the HBO Max app without using the official Amazon Fire TV Stick app store. For example, by sending us an APK file from the mobile phone to the device with the app and installing it. Or changing the country setting from the Amazon app store since, in other countries, downloading it is allowed.
Whichever method you follow, there are plenty of options for watching HBO Max from Amazon Fire TV.
