There is no doubt that accessories like the Fire TV Stick are essential to making your television smarter. But you also have to take into account some basic notions to correctly adjust this type of device if you want to have an optimal experience and comfortable use. For example, there is an option that can cause some screen flickering errors if not configured correctly.
The Fire TV Stick is one of the best options you can buy if you want to enjoy all your streaming content. Installing it is the easiest thing in the world, since you just have to plug the dongle that is included inside the box into one of the HDMI ports on the television and it starts working. It also includes a remote control to control all the content that is available within this small device. But doubts arise when a fault appears that we do not know how to solve because it is not configured correctly.
Flicker on screen
This is the case of flickering on the screen that can occur for several reasons, but the main one is that its settings are not perfectly assigned, so you have to configure them both on the Amazon plug and on the television itself. However, this type of technical problem has an easy solution, since it is only a matter of calibrating the parameters of the Fire TV Stick spike to the dimensions of the television screen.
The best thing is that the native image of our Smart TV is in 16:9 as the standard format so that it does not cause any conflict when adjusting it from the Fire TV Stick and is completely compatible. When we have done this, it is time to enter the settings of our Fire TV Stick and start with the screen calibration and other small tweaks that must be selected manually.
How to calibrate the screen on Fire TV Stick
If you see that your TV screen flickers sporadically when you are playing content on any Fire TV Stick model or you are simply in the main menu interface, you must make the following adjustments within this tool:
- First go to the Settings tab of the Fire TV Stick and look for the Display and Sound option and then scroll to where it says Display.
- Once inside, several options will appear where you will have to Calibrate the Screen first to see if the flickering problem disappears. To do this, adjust the angles and sides until the screen fits correctly and establishes the same size.
- Play a movie or series or any other content to see if the problem has completely disappeared.
If you notice that the screen keeps flashing, you can make other settings in the same Screen section. Thus, the Video Resolution will appear, which you will have to set to Automatic. Then, under Match Frame Rate, select Off. The Color Depth and Color Format should normally be set to 8 bits and auto, respectively, and lastly, leave the Dynamic Range Settings on Adaptive.
After these configurations, if you see that the flickering persists, it is best to restart your Amazon Fire TV Stick and restore the default settings from My Fire TV.
