This is how you can cancel your Spotify (Premium) account

There may be all kinds of reasons for wanting to cancel your Spotify account. Maybe you don’t use it or you would like to switch to Apple Music. You can choose to cancel only your Spotify Premium subscription and continue with a free account. But you can also delete your Spotify account completely. In both cases, follow the steps below.

Cancel Spotify? Read this first

We warn you that when you cancel your Spotify account, you will lose everything within Spotify. Your playlists and favorite songs won’t be saved, so make sure you have them saved somewhere. Delete Spotify account

Canceling your account does not work from the Spotify app, so you will have to consult the website. This is how you permanently cancel your Spotify account:

1. Open Spotify’s close account page and log in with your Spotify account.
2. Go through the steps and indicate that you are 100% sure that you want to delete your account.
3. Finally, you will receive an email in which you must confirm your choice. Do this within 24 hours.

Your account has now been canceled. After stopping Spotify, you will receive an email that gives you 7 days to come back without losing your data. Cancel Spotify Premium subscription and use Spotify for free

Do you want to keep your Spotify account, but don’t feel like paying for it anymore? Then you can also choose to cancel Spotify Premium only. You will then keep your username and other settings and can always return to a Premium account at a later time. This is how you go about it:

1. Open your Spotify account overview and log in with your Spotify account.
2. Under the heading Your subscription, click Change subscription.
3. Now choose the Cancel Premium option to cancel the paid features.

You will remain a Premium subscriber until the next billing date. Then you switch to the free version and lose the features that come with Premium.
